Weight Loss Nutrition 101 - Foods That Facilitate Fat Loss (Part 1)


In part 1 of this article, I am going to look at 3 foods that facilitate fat loss, which if it is your goal to reduce your body fat and lose weight, you should get into the habit of eating on very regular basis. These foods are "staple" foods. You can make all kinds different types and varieties of dishes with these items being the "staple" base elements. If you choose to eat these types of foods on a regular and consistent basis, not only will your body love you for it but you will achieve your weight loss and fat loss goals much quicker.

One of the best foods that facilitates fat loss is oatmeal. Now I'm not talking about the flavored oatmeal that is load with sugar and other kinds of sweeteners. I'm talking about real "old fashion" oatmeal. Oatmeal is a starchy carbohydrate which is at the top of the list due to it's nice mix of protein, carbohydrates, and good fats. Additionally, oatmeal is the type of carbohydrate that releases very slowly which is precisely the type you are looking for if you are trying to reduce body fat. For flavor, feel free to sprinkle cinnamon on your oatmeal or mix it with applesauce (sugar free of course.) Oatmeal should be a staple in your diet if your goal is to reduce your body fat.

Another food that you can't go wrong with are egg whites. Egg whites are the epitome of lean protein and if you are trying to reduce your body fat and lose weight, you should be eating lean proteins. Whole eggs (yolk included) have a lot of fat and calories. However, these are found almost entirely in the yolk. Egg whites have almost no fat and only a few calories. The types of meals you can make with egg whites are endless. You can make omelet's with vegetables and fat free cheese or egg sandwiches on wheat bread with fat free cheese. There are lots and lots of options in terms of the meals you can make. Egg whites give you a great way to get lean protein without much fat or tons of calories. Incorporate them regularly.

The last type of food we will look at in part 1 of this article that facilitates fat loss and one which you should eat regularly are 100% whole wheat/whole grain foods. Bread and grains are fine to be consumed regularly if they are 100% whole grain. If they are, they will be complex carbohydrates and provide your body with plenty of nutritional value. Just be sure to check labels and ensure what you are eating is in fact 100% whole grain.
